Lets return to this 10th Newsletter, where I will share 1 insight, 1 weekly source and 1 question to reflect!
Weekly insight
I’m a big fan of consistent approach and measurable results (as you probably already know).
Without clear priorities, which you:
Implement on a weekly basis
Measure on a weekly/monthly basis,
Reflect and adjust if needed on a quarterly basis
You can’t grow really far. That’s my key principle and rule of thumb, so I make sure to follow it.
Today I want to share with you the system I personally build for myself and which I’m following in 2024.
There are 4 areas, which are important for me and which I’m happy to focus on now and most likely later on in my life.
Health
People and experiences
Financial Freedom
Personal things
*Some people create 5 or even more but I can’t focus on many things at the same time, so 4 actually works perfectly for me. Please choose the most comfortable number for you.
For each of them I have clear, measurable (a bit challenging but exciting) priorities for 2024. To make it even more exiting, I create a folder on my laptop with the pictures from Pinterest to make my goals even more tangible and visually motivating!
After that each month I create the following plan with activities below for each of my 4 priorities, which I leave on my desk to make sure my priorities are visible to me and I add them to my weekly calendar each Sunday (this is key!) before scheduling anything else.
Every Sunday I also spend 15-20 min reflecting on what’s working well this week and what I should improve or change.
So far this is my best personal approach and I’m planning to continue it in 2024. I will share with you my progress there.
Hope it will inspire you to build something for your own: the system, which you find efficient and sustainable throughout the year.
Weekly Source
To start something outside of corporate job takes a lot of courage.
I know this from my personal experience, where my whole life I was trying to avert any risks and take a safe (socially acceptable path). This year I wanted to try something new and grow as a coach using the resources around me.
I realised: working in a corporate job these days actually brings lots of risks as well, so we need to be more open-minded.
Thus I want to share this short video of a young women and an artist. I love the journey she shared and how the discipline together with self-love allowed her to create something beautiful with her life and design it in the way she wanted.
This aims to encourage of all us to try something new: be creative, resourceful and flexible with our life adventures.
Weekly Question
Comparison with others is never helpful. A great question from Morgan Housel on measuring your results internally rather than externally:
“Would I be happy with this result if:
No one other than me & my family could see it?
I didn’t compare the result to the appearance of other people’s success?”
It is important to focus on your own progress as someone’s online life in 99.9% of cases - is a well-curated content.
If you have a full picture, you would realise, it is not a situation you would trade in exchange for your current one (with all the difficulties it actually has), so enjoy yours and keep growing!
Let’s stay connected!
Looking forward to be in touch with you all and connect again in the upcoming Friday newsletters! Wish you all a joyful day!
