Friday Newsletter: №2

Hey Friends and welcome back to my 2nd Friday Newsletter. I appreciate each of your subscription and time

Every week I’m sharing: One Insight, One Source and One Question which I found particularly striking or useful, so you can read, reflect and take action.

I hope these nuggets of wisdom bring as much value and inspiration to you as they do to me.

Weekly insight

“While creating the content focus on the depth of your community and quality of each message or service you deliver VS what we all incentivised to do on the Internet” (Jack Conte, CEO of Patreon)

Social media are massive these days. Algorithms are supporting watch time, click through rate (CTRs) and customers retention.

Indeed, metrics, dashboards and analytics are important but they should not define the success of any creator or artist. The biggest artists of all times such as Elvis Presley or Michelangelo never aimed to have a “more watch time consumed of their work” or “higher engagement level” ;)

It was all about value or emotion they bring to the audience via message (in any creative form) which make people feel connected, less lonely and seen.

Your work as creator should be timeless: it should feel true now, in 50 years and in 500 years, so don’t be fulled by algorithms or metrics. Always remember WHY you are creating content and WHAT is your purpose! (Here is the Video for more insights by Jack Conte).

Weekly Source

This week I’ve finished reading “Million Dollar Weekend” by Noah Kagan (I recommend it’s audio version as Noah did a great job narrating it) and I highly recommend this book.

  • For whom: it is very practical book for those who are thinking about starting their business but can’t (for whatever reason): can’t create THE idea, afraid to take the risk, believe that they don’t have the right skills etc.

  • Why: Very practical, easy to read and creates a clear set of actions (with templates and steps) to start moving towards your business. This is the journey I’m following myself now.

  • One practical tip from this book: entrepreneurship isn't about flashy ideas (actually quite the opposite): it is about “problem solving”. So think about those everyday challenges you face or tasks you keep postponing. The goal is to turn those into a business that helps others!

Weekly Question

Unexpressed boundaries can be a source of frustration. Please spend at least 5 min to reflect on the following question:

  • What is one area of your life you would benefit from having clearer boundaries, but haven’t voiced them yet?
